The timeless world of William Shakespeare took centre stage at M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School on 31st October 2026, as the four houses, Violets, Roses, Bluebells and Sunflowers, brought his celebrated plays to life. From Antony and Cleopatra and The Winter’s Tale to Coriolanus and The Merry Wives of Windsor, each performance offered a glimpse into Shakespeare’s rich world of characters, conflict and emotion. With expressive dialogue, period inspired costumes and creative stage settings, the students gave these classic works their own theatrical interpretation.

The Humanities Club of M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School organised a series of academic competitions in October 2026. The Quiz Competition for Classes III to VIII was held on 22nd October, followed by the Essay Writing Competition for Classes IX to XII on 23rd October 2026.

The Health and Wellness Club of M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School conducted its second session on 24th October 2026, on the theme “Decoding.” The session explored the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviour, helping students develop self-awareness, emotional understanding, and healthier interpersonal relationships through engaging activities and discussions.

The Value Education Meet for Classes VIII and IX was held at M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School on 15th October 2026. Led by Sr. Ummu Saif, the session offered meaningful Islamic insights into Jannah and Jahannam, encouraging students to reflect on their actions, strengthen their faith, and lead lives guided by righteousness and good values.

The Eco Club members of M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School participated in the Green Innovation Challenge on 16th October 2026, showcasing their creativity through innovative models focused on water conservation, waste segregation, and reducing single-use plastics. The initiative fostered environmental awareness and encouraged young minds to embrace sustainable practices for a cleaner, greener future.

M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School conducted a Student Health Camp from 7 to 10 October 2026 for students across all classes. The Camp provided medical consultations and health screenings in General Medicine, Dental Care, ENT, and Eye Care. This initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare, encourage healthy habits, and support the overall health and well-being of every student.

On 7th October 2026, the students of Class XII of M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School visited Farm Guru, Thiruvallur, for an enriching agricultural field trip. The visit provided hands-on exposure to paddy transplantation and farming practices, fostering a deeper appreciation for farmers’ efforts and sustainable agriculture. The students also enjoyed a memorable day filled with exploration, joyful moments, and meaningful learning beyond the classroom.

The Annual General Body Meeting was held on 12th September 2026. We are pleased to share that the existing committee members will continue in their respective positions, bringing their experience, dedication, and heartfelt commitment to the M.W.A. family. Mrs. Shabana Tabasum, Principal of M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, was honoured with the prestigious Alumnae Achiever Award at Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College on 19th September 2026. The recognition celebrates her dedication, leadership, and continued contribution to the field of education, bringing pride to the entire M.W.A. family.

On 10th September 2026, Std. X C was honoured with the Best Class Award for August 2026. The award was presented by our Principal, Mrs. Shabana Tabasum, in appreciation of the class’s discipline, teamwork, and commendable conduct throughout the month.

We are delighted to announce Std. II A was the recipient of the Best Class Award for August 2026, recognising their exemplary discipline, teamwork, and active participation.

On 5th September 2026, the staff had a get-together, performed creative events to entertain colleagues, and marked the day with memories of gratitude, recognition, and happiness.

The Hifz Competition, held on 3rd September 2026, celebrated students’ dedication and commitment to Qur’anic memorisation. The programme featured the reflections, and the felicitation of participants, recognising their sincere efforts and perseverance.

The Career Pathways TED Talk organised by M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School on 29th August 2026 offered students of Standards XI and XII an inspiring platform to gain valuable insights into diverse career paths. Through engaging interactions and shared experiences, the Alumni encouraged students to explore their interests, broaden their perspectives, and make informed choices for their future.

The Ambition Talk, organised by the Nursery Department of M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School on 28th August 2026, provided young learners with a joyful platform to express their dreams and aspirations.

The 61st Annual Sports Day of M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, held on 24th August 2026, was a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. The day featured a spirited blend of athletic events and physical displays, culminating in the prize distribution and closing ceremony. The celebration provided students with a memorable opportunity to showcase their talent, determination, and competitive spirit.

Mrs. Hajira Begum and Ms. Jarina Parveen of M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School were felicitated at the VELS Teachers’ Excellence Award Ceremony 2026 with certificates and mementoes in recognition of their dedication, commitment, and outstanding contribution to education.

M.W.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School proudly commemorated the 79th Independence Day on 15th August 2026 in the presence of students from Standards X, XI, and XII. The celebration paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of India's freedom fighters, inspiring patriotism, national unity, and a deep sense of civic responsibility.

The Apsara Drawing Competition for Standards I and II, held on 29th July 2026, provided young learners with an opportunity to express their creativity and imagination through art. The event encouraged artistic expression, enthusiasm, and confident participation, with winners receiving prizes in recognition of their exceptional efforts.

The PTA Board Meeting, held on 11th August 2026, provided the PTA Moms with an overview of the School's key initiatives and achievements during the Academic Year 2025–2026. The session also highlighted the measures implemented in response to parents' suggestions from the previous year and invited valuable feedback and recommendations to further strengthen the School's initiatives in the current academic year.

The Best Class Award for July 2026 was presented to Class III A for the Primary Category during the Morning Assembly on 4th August 2026. Presented by our Principal, Mrs Shabana Tabasum, the award was a gesture of appreciation to the class's discipline, team work and commitment.

As part of an initiative by the Government of Tamil Nadu, students of MWA Matriculation Higher Secondary School took the Anti-Drug Pledge on 11th August 2026, reaffirming their commitment to leading a healthy and responsible life while spreading awareness about the importance of a drug-free society.

Students of MWA Matriculation Higher Secondary School actively participated in the Leadership Club on 8th July 2026, strengthening their confidence, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills through an engaging session.

Students of Standards VI to XII participated in a multilingual speech competition on 8th July 2026, presenting inspiring speeches in English, Tamil, and Urdu on the theme, "Contribution of India's Freedom Fighters to the Nation's Independence." The event celebrated patriotism, eloquence, and respect for the sacrifices of our national heroes.

The English Intra Week, conducted from 3rd to 7th August 2026, provided students across all Grades with a vibrant platform to showcase their language skills through a variety of engaging competitions. The week celebrated creativity, confidence, communication, and the spirit of healthy competition, inspiring students to learn, participate, and excel.

The Staff of MWA Matriculation Higher Secondary School participated in an engaging workshop on “Atomic Habits” conducted by Mrs. Azha Ashika on 8th August 2026. The session highlighted how small, consistent changes can create meaningful improvements in personal and professional life.

The English Recitation Competition for Nursery students was conducted on 5th August 2026, providing young learners with a wonderful opportunity to showcase their confidence, expression, and speaking skills through delightful performances using creative props.

On 4th August 2026, VIII C was honoured with the Best Class Award for July 2026 in the category of classes VI to XII. The award was presented by our Principal, Mrs Shabana Tabasum, in recognition of the class's exemplary discipline, unity, and consistent commitment to excellence.

On 2nd August 2026, our students brought laurels to the School at the 50th Golden Jubilee Inter-School English Elocution and Drawing Competitions by securing First and Second Prizes across the Junior, Senior, and Super Senior Categories. Their outstanding achievements in oratory and arts reflect their talent, dedication, and commitment to excellence.

On 3rd August 2026, our students delivered an outstanding performance at the Zonal Carrom Tournament, securing the Winner position in the Under-19 Girls' Doubles event, the Runners-up position in the Under-17 Girls' Doubles event, and the Runners-up position in the Under-19 Girls' Singles event. Their remarkable achievement reflects dedication, focus, and sporting excellence.
